Procee[d]ings of Thermal Engineering Conference, Nov 10, 2004This paper performed the transient core analysis of a small molten salt reactor in the case of blockage accident. The emphasis is that the numerical model developed in this paper takes into account the interaction between fission reaction and fuel salt flow. The model consists of two group diffusion equations for fast and thermal neutron fluxes, balance equations for six-group delayed neutron precursors and energy conservation equations for fuel salt and graphite moderator. The results of transient analysis in the case of blockade accident are as follows ; (1) neutron multiplication factor hardly changes, (2) the outlet temperature of fuel salt decreases 10 K, and (3) fuel salt and graphite temperatures largely increase at the blockage point, but lower than fuel salt boiling temperature and the molten temperature of the reactor vessel.

Proceedings of Annual / Fall Meetings of Atomic Energy Society of Japan, 2004著者らはこれまでの研究にて,Pu燃料棒と燃料塩を併用する溶融塩炉を考案し,長期運転可能な炉心例を示したが炉容器あたりの出力が小さいという課題があった.本報では,この炉のコンパクト化及び出力密度の向上を図るとともに,更なる出力密度の向上のため,燃料格子内に黒鉛減速材を含まない炉心を新たに提案した(以下,前者を黒鉛有り炉心,後者を黒鉛無し炉心と表記).炉の臨界特性はSRAC95により,燃焼特性はORIGEN2とSRAC95を組み合わせる事により解析を行った。解析の結果,黒鉛有り,黒鉛無し炉心ともに前報の炉心と比べ炉容器出力密度が大幅に向上した.また,両炉心を比較するとUfissileの生産量は黒鉛有り炉心の方が有利であり,出力密度,Puの消費量,MAの生産量は黒鉛無し炉心の方が有利であることが明らかになった.

Proceedings of Annual / Fall Meetings of Atomic Energy Society of Japan, 2004溶融塩炉は燃料塩が核分裂反応を伴いながら炉内を循環する液体燃料炉である為,原子炉内は燃料塩の流動,核分裂,熱移動が相互に干渉する複雑な場となっている。本研究では流動,核反応,熱移動の相互干渉を考慮した解析モデルを用い,燃料塩流量が変化した際の小型溶融塩炉の炉心特性を明らかにし,流量操作による炉制御を検討した。その結果,燃料塩流量と炉熱出力との間には一次の相関が認められ,燃料塩流量の増加とともに炉熱出力は上昇した。また,炉熱出力が新しい定常出力値273MWに変化する際の整定時間(新しい定常出力値の±5%以内に落ち着くまでの時間)は約100秒であり,炉制御を行う上で十分な安定度,速応性を有していることを確認した。本研究の解析より,燃料塩流量を変化させた際の小型溶融塩炉の炉心特性が明らかになった。またBWRと同じように,燃料塩流量の操作により炉出力制御の可能性のある事が示された。
