Sakata et al. (2012) has developed an attitudes toward paranormal phenomena scale. This scale consists of six subscales; Inclination Towards Augury and Magic, Belief in Spirituality, Enjoyment of Paranormal Phenomena, Skepticism of Paranormal Phenomena, Fear of Paranormal Phenomena, and Spiritual Experience and Belief. For a deeper understanding of attitude towards paranormal phenomena, we need to develop a more detailed scale to measure skeptic attitude for paranormal phenomena. The aim of this study is to describe the development of a skeptic attitudes toward paranormal phenomena scale. The responses of 372 university students on a newly developed 85 items for skepticism of paranormal
phenomena were factor analyzed. Based on the factor analysis, five factors of the skeptic attitudes towards paranormal phenomena were identified. These were the factors of Skepticism, Criticism to the Believers, Intellectual Curiosity, Denial based on the social reality, and Acceptance of the Utility.
