Rapid and slow pyrolysis of biomass samples were carried out between 400 and 1000℃ by using a fluidized bed reactor (FBR). Only for the rapid pyrolysis around particular temperature range, bed particles (alumina: particle diameter was around 215μm) adhered on the surface of the produced char. This phenomenon may cause serious operational problems of the FBR during the rapid pyrolysis of biomass samples.
