In considering the brevity of life-span of houses in Japan, the core of the whole question should be focused on the possibility of renovation of the house, without any professional constructors' help, even if its required function has been drastically changed. This article is to advance a new structural system for ranch house planning, adopted "The Transportable Earthquake-Resisting Wall (TER-Wall)" in order to renovate the room plan easily. The TER-Wall is made of grid-like wooden board with the plywood panels set in as the back boards, and this wall could be pull apart into pieces, so as to remove the wall easily by hands. The concept of the system, the design of the TER-Wall, the result of the basic structural analysis, and the aspect of the trial model have been demonstrated in this paper.
