We created a new way of counseling in which people can experience counseling casually. This counseling was provided by peer counselors who had been studying focusing-oriented counseling for many years not by professional counselors. And it was provided in a green park not in a counseling room. The purpose of this research was to examine the effects of the focusing-oriented counseling by peer counselors. We found that “tension and excitement”, “fatigue”, “depressive mood”, and “anxious mood” decreased significantly and “refreshing mood” increased significantly. We did factor analysis of the counseling questionnaire and extracted three factors: “energetic”, “positive change of feeling”, and “negative effect”. The analysis of free descriptions showed that the focusing-oriented counseling by peer counselors had the general effect of counseling, peer counseling effect, and the unique facilitation effect by the green park. We found that the focusing-oriented counseling by peer counselors had positive effects on people’s health and also had the limitation in which the counseling was not effective for the people of high nervous and high depressive mood.
