Fauna Ryukyuana, 71 21-23, Jan 20, 2025Anisops elstoni Brooks, 1951 was recorded for the first time from Iriomote Island, Ryukyu Islands, Japan. This species has previously been confused with the closely related species, A. exiguus Horvath, 1919. Therefore, it is necessary to re-examine specimens previously identified as this species, and more caution should be exercised in future identifications.
