In Hanoi, KTT, collective housing built in the socialist era,is suffering from the necessity of redevelopment in the social problem of Hanoi that the overcrowded population and the living environment of urban areas deteriorate. Therefore, in this research, we aimed at grasping the overall picture by actual measurement survey and clarifying the actual situation of the use of open space and the awareness of the residents, for Nguyen Cong Tru KTT, where redevelopment began in advance. As a result of the survey, it was revealed that the open space of the housing complex was used for various purposes in the KTT after the economic liberation, and bias in the distribution of its use also changed the image of the place. It is also clear that residents occupy open spaces but use them while coordinating with other residents, creating a lively landscape in the open space of the housing complex.
